Calling for the closure of the orca exhibit at the Miami Seaquarium...
The Dolphin Project has traveled all over the world to put a stop to the capture and confinement of dolphins. We have campaigned against dolphin captivity in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, France, Norway, Finland, Holland, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Anguilla, Tortola, Antigua, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Israel and Australia.
Peaceful demonstrations are often a good way of bringing attention to the injustice of capturing and confining dolphins, and we have shown up all over the planet carrying our “Captivity Kills” banner. Protesting is our way of demanding that the dolphin captivity industry finally let the public know what really goes on behind the glittering scene of the captive dolphin spectacle. It's an attempt at breaking the deception that forms the basis of the commercial triumph that dolphin captivity has turned out to be. We believe it’s wrong to remove these beautiful marine mammals from their natural homes and exploit them for commercial purposes. By protesting we’re letting the industry know that we’re not going to silently accept what they’re doing to the dolphins.
